I'm Jacob Robinson, a graphic designer blending collage, photomontage, and bold, grungy aesthetics to challenge perspectives and spark critical thought. My work explores themes of misinformation, power, and identity, pulling from political and social realities to create visuals that leave a mark. Inspired by the raw impact of artists like Peter Kennard and Winston Smith, I aim to craft a distinct, recognisable style that feels both iconic and personal. Design isn’t just a medium for me—it’s a tool to provoke, inform, and disrupt.

My Education
I discovered graphic design almost by accident at a college open day, but as soon as I saw what was possible, I was hooked. This then led me to pursuing it further  at Leeds Beckett University.

My Ambition
Although I’m still figuring out my career path, I know exactly what drives me as a designer. I want my work to make people think—to challenge perspectives, educate, and spark conversation. Whether through collage, photomontage, or bold visuals, my goal is always to create design that leaves an impact and encourages a broader way of thinking.

Project Mis/information

A self-initiated poster series designed to challenge the spread of misinformation online. The project uses bold, provocative visuals and layered text to encourage critical thinking and digital literacy. With a focus on social impact, the campaign aims to disrupt passive scrolling and spark conversation around the manipulation of truth in the digital age.

Red Herring

A self initiated brief, designing visual marketing for a bar centred around the theme of rock and punk. I wanted the bar to represent people who enjoy alternative music and style to have their own space to express themselves. I plan to use unique marketing strategies to target those who enjoy the genre .

Voids

VOID is a conceptual and visual exploration of emptiness in graphic design. The project focuses on how elements like negative space, minimal colour palettes, isolation, and distortion can be used to evoke a sense of absence, unease, or contemplation.
